This afternoon the Shogun is headed back out to the albacore grounds with Capt Bruce Smith at the wheel. We are an a 5 day trip sponsored by Braid Fishing Products. All aboard received a Braid gift bag, the heavy casting lure should produce on albacore and yellows. Bruce intends to give the area all his effort tomorrow then decide on the fishing options. The weather is fair with moderate winds and all on board are ready for action.

Today the wind came up and the albacore bite slowed considerably. The schools are still around but the bite is off today. Norman took the Shogun to Cortez Bank to try for yellowtail, but they weren't interested either. All in all it was a great trip. We have plenty of beautiful albacore in the RSW fish holds to off load tomorrow. Tommie was watching those fish like a hawk, adjusting salinity, temperature and water level to insure the best quality of catch possible. Tomorrow is turn around day once again, we will be leaving on a 5 day Braid charter hoping a consistent bite develops.

The Shogun once again found itself among biting schools of albacore today. We didn't have many long glory stops but we never had to look far for the next willing school of long fins. Just when a bite seemed over a few more fish would be hooked. so went the day. Tomorrow Capt. norm is going to begin fishing in the same area and then possibly look for yellow tail in the afternoon. The weather remains mild with sunny skies and light breezes. We can only hope the fish stay around another month.

The weather came down all day long, making for a great day of fishing. The albacore were on the chew from early on. We had a spectacular day chasing bird schools, jumpers, foamers and sonar marks. What a difference from early season when we located school after school that wouldn't bite. Our charter group did a great job of working together throughout the day. Right now is a great time to get on a boat and come out here. Better yet make a reservation on one of our Shogun Fall trips where all kinds of fishing opportunities await.

Another turn around day, hustling at the dock preparing for the next trip. We left early with our charter group, baited up and headed back toward those albacore. The wind came up this afternoon but with little swell, right now we are drifting waiting for the new day to arrive. The wind has backed off alot and we can only hope that the fish stay on the bite for this trip.

Our morning started out slow, a few bird schools and then a long lull without much albacore sign. Norman stopped the Shogun on a school before lunch and the fish bit for over three hours. After that we were never on the move for more than 10 minutes. Jig strikes, bird schools, fish on the sonar, they all wanted to bite. It was a great ending to the Izorline 5 day trip. Tomorrow we are turning the boat around, leaving on a 4 day private charter. Hope the albies don't on a diet soon!

It was a long run from Guadalupe back up to the albacore grounds. The weather was much improved from Wednesday. We spent the afternoon searching for bird schools and albacore jumpers. The fish were biting the trolling feathers and a lively sardine follow up was the one-two punch to success. Right now the Shogun is drifting in the area to have an early shot at the fish. Tomorrow we will wrap up this 5 day trip with a full day of fishing for the long fins.

We have tested the waters. Guadalupe Island has been given a good check twice over and not much sign of life... yet! Fish are going to move in soon, the water has beautiful blue color and there is plenty of bait in the water. We managed a few small tuna and a couple of bass but that was it. There are still a two days of fishing this trip and Capt Norm has the Shogun pointed toward the albacore grounds once again. The weather has improved in that area and we are going to give it our all.
