The Cedros yellowtail were on the chew today. The first spot we fished early was slow, but a quick move and it was game on! Lots of fish going at once, not many yellows lost. Basic techniques were producing well. Fly lined sardines, surface and yo-yo jigs were were getting bit throughout the day. Most of these fish were in the 12-20 pound class, but in the last hour of the day we came across a bird school of those "Cedros Grade" yellowtail. Most all the fish were lost in the kelp, as the anglers went in with the same gear that they had been using all day long. We have a good idea of the fish size and when the crew recommends heavy gear its experience telling us thats the only way to get a fish on the deck.
