We left today, this morning, on the annual BigFishHappen five day. In previous years, during this trip, the yellowtail and variety fishing around Cedros and Benitos islands have been kind to us, hopefully this year will afford the same opportunity's.
Our weather is not so good as we make our way south, there is some wind to contend with this afternoon. We are thankful for an early start and plan to make the best of it.

Looks like that the original report for the 15th was erased before it was sent.
Anyhow, we started this morning with some bluefin under the boat and willing to bite. Once those finished up we trolled and looked for the remainder of the day with the occasional albacore jig strike. Then, just like yesterday, right before dark we came upon a school of bluefin that bit for us into the dark.

Yellowtail! We spent the day around Cedros. We had a couple of decent drifts in the a.m. then had some slow fishing and looking for the rest of the day. In the evening, just before dinner, the big ones wanted to play and we got in a shot at the "Premiums", which was a nice way to wind up the day..

We trolled and looked and trolled and looked all day.....This morning was taken up by the seminar, but the rest of the day was troll, troll, glass, glass, glass......Did I mention we looked all day? Then we caught a lone yellowtail on the troll,,,,,,wheehdoo, and I thought it was going to be slow....
Is the suspense getting to you?
At 18:00, after trolling and looking all day, we saw it. The sonar lit up, Norman got on the mike and told everyone to get ready. From then until dark it was WFO on 20 to 30 pound bluefin tuna. YES! Final tally was over 120 out of this one stop.
Yeah I think we will be here tomorrow...
