Today was mostly a travel day for us. We scouted plenty of cold blue water with nothing in it and called it a trip around 10:00. Our ETA to Fisherman's Landing is scheduled at 07:30.

It was much slower fishing today, here at Cedros island. For what ever reason the fish just didn't show for us like they did yesterday. Don't get me wrong we did have a fun morning, but we missed on the "bigs". Tomorrow we will be offshore in hopes of finding some albacore and bluefin.

After last nights bumpy ride we arrived at isla Cedros about 11:30 this morning. We made some drifts and caught plenty of school sized yellowtail, then in the afternoon Norman found some "premium" grade yellows and the fun began! We lost at least as many as we hooked, they boiled up behind the boat and showed well at which point they annihilated the surface iron. These "premiums" were all in the 30 to over 40 pound range!

Today's fishing was slower overall. We stayed the night at the rocks proper tanked up on some bigger mackerel and scad, but the yellows didn't want to play in the dark. Once first light showed it was a slow pick at best on the 40 pound yellowfin and occasional yellowtail. Big Fish of the day and trip so far goes out to John Dornellas with a yellowfin that is pushing the 100 pound mark. John's fish ate a green mackerel fly-lined on 60 pound, good going John for keeping up the tradition of Big Bait, Big Fish! At 14:00(2:00) we took off for Cedros island. The wind has come up quite a bit and its making for a bumpy ride.

Its been a good trip so far and today was no exception. We started on the bank and made a couple of long drifts picking at 40 pound yellowfin tuna, 30 to 40 pound yellowtai and a few nice deep water grouper. Once that dried up it was back to the rocks proper where we continued, as yesterday, to keep one to four fish going the whole afternoon on the good grade tunas. The wind is perking up a little bit, but it is still good fishing weather.
