Hello All,
In February the Shogun went on a 14/18 day Revillagigedos Island trip to observe, photograph and explore the islands. Buggers, birders, mammal experts and planters spent much time identifying and collecting plants and critters plus filming all other species of wild life! This incredible adventure was made possible by the good graces of Mexico! Special Thanks to the Mexican Navy! THANK YOU Dr. SULA VANDERPLANK and Dr. EXEQUIEL EZCURRA Permits for scientific research and collection on the islands were issued to Dr. Exequiel Ezcurra by SEMARNAT SGPA/DGVS/09514/16. Disembarkation permits were graciously provided to Exequiel Ezcurra by SEGOB SATI/PC/003/17, with no objection from CONANP, and the generous support of the Mexican Navy Following is a post post of pictures yours truly ( the luckiest reporter this side of Alijos Rocks) CHRIS GARCIA took. Heading down to the Revillagigedos Island chain (San Benedicto, Socorro,Roca Partida and Clarion) we stopped at Asuncion, San Roque, and Santa Maria Bay. Hey folks-
We just returned from a Rice Bowl charter three day trip this morning. Fishing for yellowtail was a little on the slow side but we had excellent rock fishing. Limits of quality reds, lingcod and other various rockfish. The weather was excellent and the water conditions are improving. The first day of fishing we saw virtually no yellowtail but the second day we saw good sign. The water warmed and cleaned through out the day so I suspect if this trend continues there will be more and more yellowtail showing up. As always, Rice Bowl charters put together another fun trip. Howard Hada was the charter master this trip and he brought along lots of giveaways and had the cocktails flowing. We have some spots next Thursday (3/16) on another three day headed down the beach. Valid passports are required. Call the office at 619-226-8030 to hop on the trip and fill the freezer. -Shogun crew Good Morning Anglers!!
