Checking in on our Bob Sand's 9 day folks. To recap we left Thursday with none other than Frank LoPreste himself at the helm. We were fortunate to load the boat with some beautiful large sized sardines and got underway to our customs appointment in Ensenada. Friday was a travel day and we motored south towards "the Ridge". Saturday morning dawned and we started hunting for yellowtail outside of San Roque. We had tough fishing but managed to scratch out 40 nice yellowtail before moving down to Asunción around lunch time. With only a small handful of smaller grade yellowtail decked, we opted to venture offshore in search of kelp paddies. Hoping to get lucky with dorado or possibly wahoo, But we were only able to find one kelp holding small dorado. We never did find clean blue water before the sun set but continued working toward the ridge. Early Sunday morning we will be fishing around the "15" for wahoo and tuna and working our way south throughout the day towards the "23" where with a bit of luck the tuna will be waiting. Wish us luck out here guys and gals and with a bit of perseverance tomorrow's report will be a more positive one. Don't forget the galley crew turning out great meals and snacks helping to pass the time and the wonderful giveaways from the tackle shop representative Eric. -Shogun Crew
